DESCRIPTION
This sequel to 1997's Command & Conquer: Red Alert on the PlayStation combines all of the missions found on the two PC add-on discs, Counterstrike and Aftermath. The player is still free to choose between the Allies or Soviets for a total of 34 solo missions, each designed to be more challenging than those found in Red Alert.
A new feature is that in order to reach the higher levels, you'll need to attain a certain military rank. Twelve new units have been added to assist you, including Tesla Tanks, M.A.D. Tanks, Demolition Trucks, Missile Subs and Shock Troopers. If you have a Link Cable, you'll be able to challenge a second player on one of over 100 different multi-player maps.
Don't have a friend around? Don't worry, the game still includes a Skirmish Mode, where you face up to three computer opponents in an all-out battle for supremacy. Command & Conquer: Red Alert — Retaliation also supports the mouse, gamepad and (for the first time) the memory card, allowing you to save both your progress and ranking.
Exclusive to this PlayStation game are 19 full-motion video clips featuring actor Barry Corbin (best known for television's Northern Exposure) as the Allied General, plus a completely new soundtrack. If you're good enough, perhaps you can unlock the secret Giant Ant missions! ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
