Adventurous activities in ClueFinders: Mystery of the Monkey Kingdom focus on building eight basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, money use, estimates, place values, and word problems. The story follows the ClueFinders as they enter a rainforest to search for clues related to the disappearance of Dr. Horace Pythagoras.
By applying various math skills, players in the seven-to-nine age range are able to thwart villains and monsters while being entertained and taught at the same time. Plot advances occur as problems and activities are completed, with occasional hints and clues offered to help advance the action. Features include cartoon-like visuals, character animation, and speech.
As with most of the games in the ClueFinders series, an auto-level feature monitors each child's skill and makes activities easier or harder based on results. Four challenge settings are available in ClueFinders: Mystery of the Monkey Kingdom and the title contains some activities and ideas from ClueFinders 3rd Grade Adventures, released in 2000. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
