DESCRIPTION
In Chuck Rock for the Super NES, you must guide Chuck Rock through five stages of prehistoric pitfalls and perils in order to rescue his wife Ophilia from the clutches of Gary Gritters. The game takes place in the jungle, in and around a volcano, in a primordial soup swamp, during the Ice Age and in a dinosaur graveyard. Chuck can walk, jump and swim, and he can and lift and throw heavy rocks. He can use the rocks to chuck at dinosaurs or as stepping stones to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. His other weapons include his feet, which when jumping kick, and his trademark rounded belly, which he can use to butt his enemies.
Chuck Rock spends most of his time in this game performing the ordinary tasks of walking, ducking, jumping on platforms and battling enemies. Occasionally, however, he must execute certain special maneuvers to get past obstacles. He will use alligators as catapults and snakes as extending platforms. He will hop on frogs, which enable him to hop in water. He will even allow woolly mammoths to suck him into their trunks and shoot him through the air!
Throughout the game, Chuck can pick up chicken legs, lemons, ham hocks, turkey legs, fish, pig heads and other food items for extra points. Hearts are good for extra energy. At the end of each level, Chuck must face a giant dinosaur boss. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
