DESCRIPTION

Chrono Trigger puts a spin on the traditional RPG battle system by joining more than one character's attacks to create a "combination" attack. As you travel through the game, you will earn more of these and eventally learn the ultimate in combinations: the triple attack.

This game follows a long and twisting tale because the element of time travel is used. If you screw up in the past, it will greatly affect the future.

Once you have beaten the game, a new game mode opens up: the "+" mode. In "+" mode, you retain all the weapons, levels, and items you had when you beat the game, but you get to use them at the beginning of the game instead. This allows you to get some of the game's 15 secret endings. The "+" mode is also loaded with many side-quests and hidden treasures. ~ Clark Phelan, All Game Guide

“That has got me thinking. I will have to play through Chrono Cross (I lost my copy of the game). It would be interesting to know what would be a nice addition into the series.

Squeenix hates its fans, so there will never be another game in the Chrono series (on that note: there will be nothing for a true new game in the Mana series). It is nice to speculate. As it helps me be happier, than thinking about what they WILL be doing for a game series. Squeenix has discontinued Final Fantasy... after the very very bad reception to Final Fantasy XIII (normal for making a game that bad, with as big of a budget given) and the flop of Final Fantasy XIV (which they cannot even get people to play it for free). Dragon Quest has always been Squeenix' grudgingly released series (it hints they can do a proper JRPG--but it tends to take second fiddle to their other games)...

So--discussing ideas in the Chrono series is a nice way to remember them--and speculate on them.

“If you like the philosophical implications of the game, you may be interested to know that although I can't remember the exact site, there's a relatively popular essay that's been floating around the internet for a while which shows if not conclusive proof for the game being a biblical allegory, at least interesting comparisons between it's plot and characters and the Christ story.”

“sigh. If I wanted to be all christ chex as you put it, then I'd be actually talking about the bible. The man mentioned Magus's similarities to the founder of Islam, so I thought he might be interested in a well written paper that compares to the bible, which is interesting whether or not one is a follower of Christianity just due to the large number of similarities. It should be noted that almost every culture has a messianic figure, and that their stories are all relatively similar, and that with little work the paper could be adjusted to fit almost any religion or myth.”

“Actually, I think I came upon that essay. Two things to note were
1. Most of these little tid-bits are only in the English version of the game.
2. Are common traits among hero stories (such as Hercules and Odin both overcoming death).

“@mantooth012 Actually, it's the exact opposite for me.

I thoroughly enjoy EVE and have a great time playing it. I'm far from bored.

But it takes a little while to get back up to speed... Figure out what changes have been made since the last time I played, get into a corporation again, learn what the local area is like and which systems to avoid, get back in the swing of things...

And then, just as I'm settling in and starting to have a great time again, something comes up.

Maybe it's a new WoW expansion that my wife insists we play... Or maybe work gets busy and I have no free time for EVE... But, regardless, I find myself unable to keep playing EVE and I wind up canceling my subscription again.

It's really frustrating.”
