DESCRIPTION
The paradoxical secrets of a life-giving tree, and the deaths it has indirectly caused, send gamers on a journey through the countries of the Mediterranean in this classically styled point-and-click adventure. Chronicles of Mystery: The Tree of Life mixes ancient intrigue with modern investigation as players guide the young archeologist Sylvie Leroux through the canals of Venice, the back alleys of Cairo, and craggy cliffs of Gibraltar, among other locations. Gamers must gather information, solve puzzles, collect items, and interview a cast of characters in order to untangle a complex web of intrigue that involves the famed "ghost ship" Mary Celeste, as well as the mysterious occultist known as the Count of St. Germain. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide

“+ Pleasant music.
+ Took less disk space than expected.
+ Requires DVD in the drive but doesn't actually move it when starting.
+ You can switch off the sound of dialogues in-game, without exiting to main menu. Very useful when clicking on stuff randomly, so that you don't need to listen to Sylvie's annoying voice.
- Plot fell apart somewhere in the middle. Things didn't make sense, a lot of common mysteries were mentioned for no real reason at all (i.e. Atlantis, Bermuda Triangle, and more - with no in-depth explanation how they were related to the main plot). The ending was absurd.
- Characters are idiots, especially the main protagonist. She's more of a tomb raider than an archaeologist.
- Women have some serious problems in this game, always related to men.
- Absurd dialogues. I found myself skipping this idiocy - it was boring, not related, and just plain bad. Even the characters seemed bored; near the end the following line appears: "Why are we having this conversation anyway?" Why indeed. :/
- Horrible random luck mini game.
- Puzzles were either very easy, or extremely frustrating because I didn't know what to do. When looked up in the walkthrough, the solutions were of the "oh, so this is what the game wanted =.=" type rather than "gee, I'm dumb" type.
I bought it for 15 USD. Total waste of money.”

“The plot is getting boring, there's way too much talking that doesn't seem to lead anywhere, the protagonist's behaviour is erratic and doesn't make sense at times. The dice game was TERRIBLE. I...”
