Play "the most challenging courses in the world" with Chip Shot: Super Pro Golf for the Intellivision. You can play the front nine, back nine, or all 18 holes of five different courses: INTV Tourney, Classic Course, Invitational Open, Celebrity Pro-Am, and Trail of Tears. Prior to playing, you can preview each hole.
If you are not satisfied with the hole selection on a particular course, or you simply want to play your favorite holes, you can design your own course by selecting from the 99 available holes making up the five courses. Each hole has obstacles such as trees, roughs, bunkers, and water hazards.
The playfield and ball are viewed from a top-down perspective while an up-close rendition of the golfer is shown in a special "Golfer's Window," which also displays important information such as hole number, scores, par, yardage, distance to green or hole, and club in use.
Super Pro Golf provides you with a bag of 14 different golf clubs: a driver, a putter, a sand wedge, a pitching wedge, nine different irons, and a 3 wood. Using an "X" around your ball as a guide, you can aim the initial direction of the shot's path. A gauge helps you hit the ball hard or soft, and hooking and slicing the ball is determined by how early or late you press a side button during your swing.
Pressing a side button at the moment the club hits the ball sends the ball straight. When determining all the factors of your shot, wind strength and direction must be taken into account. If you are not ready to compete, or you simply want to hone your golfing skills, you can practice on the Driving Range or on the Practice Putting Green. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
