DESCRIPTION
Before tragedy and downfall, there's always hubris. Chakan, through years of training and dueling, had established himself as the greatest sword expert alive. Filled with pride, he dared to challenge Death to a match. If he lost, Death would take Chakan's soul, but Death agreed to give him immortality if he won.
Chakan won that duel, and won his immortality. But gifts of that nature come at a price. Chakan discovered that price as he continued to age normally. Eventually Chakan became old and tired, and wished to die. Death gave him another deal; if Chakan was able to wipe out all evil from the land he would be able to die in peace.
Chakan: The Forever Man is a side-scrolling action game. You control Chakan in his quest for death. Armed with his two swords, Chakan must cleanse the evil from several stages. Along the way he can pick up more powerful swords as well as other items with special effects that can be stored and used later. Chakan can attack with his swords, perform double jumps, and can also use a spinning sword technique during jumps.
Because he's immortal, Chakan cannot die. He can be hurt and killed like a regular mortal, but he will always return to life. Chakan has a health bar that decreases each time he takes a hit. If that health bar is totally depleted, Chakan dies and must be resurrected on Death's ship. Players can resurrect Chakan an unlimited number of times. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
