DESCRIPTION
Cave Kooks, which is patterned after Dig Dug, involves eliminating an assortment of monsters in an underground setting. You'll have to maneuver a witch underneath the ground, using a harpoon wand to banish the foul creatures. As the witch travels below the surface, trails and corridors are hollowed out.
Because enemies are located in various portions of the screen, the witch must hollow out tunnels that connect to the creatures' lairs. Once a path has been cleared, that monster is free to roam the corridors. This is where the witch's wand comes in — when a creature starts walking towards her, press and hold the fire button to unleash the weapon.
If the weapon touches the monster, the being will rotate and disappear within a few seconds. There are times, however, when other monsters will threaten the witch while she's banishing another creature; in these situations, the witch will have to holster the wand and run to a safe haven, as monsters have the potential to kill the sorceress.
Besides the monsters, there are other things to look out for like hovering diamonds and birds. If the witch should touch these objects, she'll lose a life. The overall goal is to score as many points possible while clearing the screen of monsters. If the score at the end of the game is significant enough, it will be included on the high score list. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
