Similar to the many earlier console and computer games in its pedigree, the wireless mobile edition of Catz is a virtual pet simulator that has players adopting, training, and caring for their own digital kittens. A choice of two breeds and four colors is available. Using the device's directional controls, players can manipulate an on-screen hand icon to pet and play with their feline friends. In an exploration mode, the hand icon is also used to manipulate cat toys and lead the kitten to interesting fixtures in a virtual home, such as a television set, a mouse hole, and an aquarium. Providing the cat with plenty of exercise and stimulation helps prepare it for the in-game kitty competition, where players can win new virtual cat toys, equipment, or even the chance to adopt a second kitten companion. ~ T.J.
