DESCRIPTION
A classic tabletop game of empire-building strategy settles on N-Gage, courtesy of Capcom. The console-inclined publisher's first release for the Nokia handheld is based on Mayfair Games' "Settlers of Catan" (originally published in Germany as "Die Siedler von Catan"). Like the board game, this N-Gage version of Catan takes place on an imaginary, unsettled island, depicted on a simple, war game-style hex map. Gameplay revolves around building and trade, and the ultimate goal is to claim the island as ones own by capturing the most land and producing the most civil improvements. Resources allow players to build cities and roads, which allow them to claim additional hexes of territory, which in turn allows them access to more resources. In addition to wireless multiplayer support for up to four, Catan for N-Gage also features a 16-mission single-player campaign. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

“It's Settlers of Catan, in video game form. Great, solid, enjoyable gameplay. *Major* gripe is no single console multiplayer. The inability to play a game at home on the XBox loses points with me.”
