DESCRIPTION

It's your car against the computer's car in Car Wars for the TI-99/4A home computer. Your job is to drive your red car around single screen, multi-lane, circular tracks without getting "crashed" off the field of play by the yellow car. You can't destroy the computer car, only avoid it.

The maze-like tracks in this game are lined with dots. Driving over the dots clears them off the playfield. To progress to the next screen, you must clear off all the dots.

Eventually, you will face two computer cars and then three. Every two rounds after that, a new computer car will be added to the tracks. You can maneuver your car one or two lanes over while the computer cars can only move one lane at a time.

When the game begins, you can select from three speed options that affect both your car and the computer's car. Initially, both cars are traveling at the same speed. After you clear a certain number of dots on a screen, the computer car will double its velocity. To speed up your car, simply press the accelerator. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
