Legend Entertainment aims at the funny bone with Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, a fanciful science fiction adventure based on the writings of Spider Robinson. As soon as you swagger up to the bar in Callahan's, you realize this isn't your ordinary corner pub. Your fellow patrons are a decidedly mixed lot. Vampires, robots, humans, time travelers and more frequent this classy tavern in Long Island and share common bonds such as commiserating, exchanging killer puns and, basically, being good-natured and concerned about the state of the universe.
As the character Jake Stonebender, folk musician, you come to realize there are problems in the universe that need fixing. Being the good citizen you are, you find yourself involved in a series of adventures leading up to the main storyline — adventures that take you on time-traveling excursions with definite "save the universe" overtones.
A cast of diverse characters, sort of a Cheers group in the Star Wars cantina, keep the conversation, companionship and action fresh with humor, jokes, running gags and outrageous puns. Callahan's Crosstime Saloon is a graphic adventure designed in the tradition of Legend's growing list of titles within this genre. The game features an on-line tutorial and an interface consisting of a mouse cursor that turns into an arrow when directional movement is possible. As in previous Legend adventures, commands are built by clicking on picture objects, inventory icons and verbs. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
