“Call of Duty: World at War (COD5) not only brought more to the table for multiplayer and co-op, but also brought in one of the now most popular played "bonus games" ever, Nazi Zombies. The player takes control of a United States Marine in World War II and a Russian soldier of the U.S.S.R. Wonderful actors lent their voice talent to the game, such as Kiefer Sutherland and Gary Oldman. A gripping storyline and an awesome cooperative mode to play the story campaign on with friends. Multiplayer brought out more perks, weapons, and maps of course, but also add the first prestige system to the ranks for players. Originally a silly bonus game after completion of the story campaign, Nazi Zombies quickly became popular between COD players. While some would rather stick with multiplayer, the zombie fans continued to give feedback and request more maps. Requests were granted and soon a story with characters, rapidly unfolded. Nazi Zombies included a 4 person cooperative player system, weapons, perks, 4 maps, deadly undead foes and wonderful music sung by artist Elena Siegman. Players take charge of Staff Sergeant Tank Dempsey, Sgt. Nikolai Belinski, Captain Takeo Masaki, and Major General/Dr. Edward Richtofen. All four characters, despite being allies and axis, have no choice but to team together in order to survive the undead apocalypse. Players attempt to reach the highest round possible until...well the zombies win.
The game definately set a pace for other games and Treyarch will surely continue to make many more.”
