DESCRIPTION
Thrown deep into enemy territory, you're a lone commando facing immeasurable odds. You begin with nothing more than a low-powered, single-shot repeater but can capture enhanced weaponry, such as grenades and semi-automatic rifles, as you dispose of the enemy — perhaps enough firepower to turn the tide in your favor. The game has five levels with each divided into four stages. Characters are limited to only left and right movement on one fixed screen. Though movement is strictly limited to the horizontal plane, your gun cursor can be moved anywhere within the screen.
Since a single hit by enemy fire is enough to kill you, skill at dodging bullets is paramount. You are also aided by a number of obstacles placed on the screen that offer shelter from incoming fire — until they're destroyed by the enemy. Again, a single hit does the trick and leaves you vulnerable to enemy fire later in the stage. In addition to weaponry, killing the enemy garners you power ups and points. The power ups include weapon enhancements and bonus points and for every multiple of 10,000 points, you're rewarded with an extra life.
At the bottom of the screen is a blue enemy indicator that gradually turns red as you kill enemies. When it's completely red, the stage is complete and you're free to move to the next one. At the end of each level, you must face incredibly strong adversaries such as Chinook helicopters and submarines. ~ Gavin Frankle, All Game Guide
