DESCRIPTION
Buzz Bombers pits you against a swarm of yellow honeybees. Armed with a can of bug spray that moves left and right along the bottom of the screen, your objective, along with killing worker bees, is to destroy their honeycombs and hives as well. When you shoot a bee, it leaves a honeycomb, which can be shot by you or devoured by a helpful hummingbird. Be careful not to shoot the hummingbird or it could turn a sickly green and temporarily leave the playfield.
With the tune of Flight of the Bumblebee playing in the background, worker bees start at the top and move back and forth across the screen. When they run into a honeycomb or either side of the playfield, they go down a level. If you let a bee reach the bottom of the screen, it will pollenate a previously unseen flower, making the flower appear onscreen. The more flowers that get pollenated, the less room you will have to maneuver your spray can. In later levels, you will face white killer bees, which fly much faster than their laboring counterparts.
You begin Buzz Bombers with three spray cans, each can providing 56 sprays. You receive a bonus can at 20,000, 40,000, and 80,000 points and at every 80,000 points thereafter. The game ends only when you run out of bug spray. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
