DESCRIPTION

Hot on the heels of Burai Fighter for the NES comes Burai Fighter Deluxe for the Game Boy. After conquering nearly every planet in the known universe, the evil Burai have set their sights on Earth. You are our planet's only hope. Armed with a laser cannon, you must fly (via proton pack) through five levels of Burai's deadly Robomutants, shooting everything in sight. Each of the levels has a boss: Giganticrab, Jawsipede, Fangskull, Torchwing, and Slimedragon. Other enemies and obstacles you'll face include whizzers (laser cannons), Buzz Bombs, Visemouths, and Mantaroids. Throughout the game, you will find three different power-ups which you can use to upgrade your weapon: the Laser, the Missile, and the Ring. Each weapon has three levels of power. Also, you can find Pods, which circle around your ship, destroying everything they hit, and Cobalt Bombs, which eliminate every enemy on the screen. The game basically moves from left to right, but at times the screen will scroll up or down. The two-player mode of this game, which requires two Game Boys, two copies of the game, and a Game Link cable, is competitive.
