DESCRIPTION

The seminal 1970s ball-and-paddle game gets a next-millennium update in Breakout CD-ROM. As in Hasbro's updated versions of other Atari arcade classics, such as Centipede and Q*Bert, and especially their Pong: The Next Level, classic Golden Age arcade-style gaming is bolstered with 3D graphics and state-of-the-art sound.

Much of the game follows the original formula, as players move a paddle back and forth to bounce a ball against a multi-layered brick wall, smashing out individual bricks with each hit. This basic 2D play is represented with 3D elements here, though, and different levels are viewed from different angles.
