DESCRIPTION
BloodNet, an unusual role-playing adventure, takes place in a futuristic high-tech society set in Manhattan cyberspace in the year 2094. In this radical high-tech world, humanity has embraced cyberspace as the center of economic and leisurely pursuits, while a devastating plague of cyberpunk vampires infects the city. In this offbeat and complex story, Ransom Stark, an ex-employee of the powerful TransTechnical Corporation, becomes part vampire and suffers an attack of Hopkins-Brie Ontology Syndrome, leaving him unable to distinguish between reality and virtual reality. By virtue of a neural implant designed to restore perceptions, an enemy of TransTech Deirdre Tackett reestablished Stark's link to reality.
Given a second chance, he becomes a force in cyberspace, recognized as a reliable freelance agent. Fortunately, the neural implant is preventing him from becoming a slave to vampirism, but the implant's expiration date is approaching fast and he's got to find the means to purge the vampire curse. In a fight against time and eternal damnation, you must use Tackett's program to track down and destroy the lord of the vampires, Abraham Van Helsing, who is threatening to become master of Manhattan and cyberspace. BloodNet uses an icon-based, point and click interface and contains mature language, adult themes, and bloody violence. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
