DESCRIPTION
Instead of standard players and standard rules, the players in Blood Bowl football, the brainchild of Jervis Johnson, are fantasy creatures. Originally a board game from Games Workshop, Blood Bowl is an interpretation of what dwarves, orcs, and other fantasy creatures might play if they stumbled upon the rules for American football.
As the story goes, during a furious battle, an orc soldier discovered an odd, bowl-shaped depression. He dug down and discovered what could only be an ancient temple, complete with armor and a pedestal holding a great book — the way of worship for the ancient land of Armorica and the god, Nuffle. Thus the Nuffle Armorical Football League was born where players vie for glory as they try to score touchdowns (worth one point each) while maiming and killing members of the opposing team.
While on its surface, Blood Bowl is a sports game, its true nature revolves around pure strategy, with carnage controlled by hidden dice rolls and character attributes. ~ Steve Honeywell, All Game Guide

“What a bloody brilliant game! I've been a huge fan of the board game version of Blood Bowl for over 12 years. Playing the PC version is exactly like playing with minis with the added benefit of announcer play-by-play no longer just being in my head.”

“UI and online play is about as bad as anything I've ever experienced to get up and running, which speaks volumes to how awesome the game is.”
