In Forgotten Realms's most remote and unknown area, Utter East, massive armies battle across the land while powerful golems, devious wraiths, sturdy paladins and other creatures fight for their lords and masters in the real-time strategy game, Blood and Magic. With five basic games, each with three scenarios, you can choose either of the two sides in the upcoming battle. In the campaign game, which uses all fifteen maps, how you run your army determines your alignment. Creating a large number of followers, slaying a lot of enemies and creating many buildings will cause your alignment to swing towards "lawful." Keeping your creatures alive, killing few enemies, and not destroying other structures is also favorable.
The center of each army's power is the Bloodforge, which collects the mana used to create the Basal Golem, the basic creature for each army, who, in their dormant state, also collect mana. When moved next to another structure, Basal Golems can transform into different, more powerful creatures with particular abilities to make them more adept at fighting. Destroy enemy creatures and structures and learn to create new and more powerful creatures.
Blood and Magic, from Interplay Productions, features weapons, treasure chests, potions, spells and twenty-eight monster-types from the world of Forgotten Realms. The simple point-and-click interface supports multi-player action via network or head-to-head combat over a modem. ~ Steve Honeywell, All Game Guide
