DESCRIPTION
Blades of Steel represented a big step in bringing a new level of authenticity to sports games. Compared to the cartoonish look and feel of Nintendo's Ice Hockey, the game was a close representation of the real thing, featuring six-on-six action, properly proportioned players, an isometric view of the rink, animated crowds, and even fighting. Luckily, Blades of Steel didn't sacrifice fun for realism, and it stands as one of the most enjoyable sports games of its era. ~ Skyler Miller, All Game Guide

“Beside Hat Trick this was the best hockey game for its time. The scoring moves were nothing like the ones of today. Though, fighting in this game was what made me keep playing it over and over.”
