DESCRIPTION
In BioShock, you take the role of an isolated crash survivor who discovers a city under the sea. This city, also known as Rapture, was once a utopia for scientists, artists, and industrialists. However, by the time your character takes his first steps into Rapture, the civilization has ceased to exist, and the place is nearly desolate. The signs of life your avatar finds are nothing like he's seen before. Creatures known as little sisters roam the streets of Rapture with enormous bodyguards called big daddies. Mutated humans drag their warped bodies around the city and attack you on sight.
The goal of the game is to find your way out of Rapture while uncovering the mysteries behind its existence. As you explore the open environment, you must defeat big daddies and little sisters to obtain a material known as Adam. The Adam can enhance your in-game attributes and unlock over 60 genetic skills that come in handy for all sorts of predicaments. The city of Rapture is almost completely interactive, and you may collect objects for later use. There are also six modifiable weapons to use including two types of guns. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide

“Bioshock is a awesome game i think, because it's a unique story and enemies. It also has a great atmosphere and the graphics are nice. U can upgrade your weapons and abilities, the hacking element is also nicely done and most of all pretty handy.”

The player may make choices during the game however this is a typical first person shooter- RPG with a plethora of weapons, upgrades and supernatural abilities. semi decent storyline and decent game play not much re-playability however.”

“Bioshock is a creative FPSRPG with a wonderfully imaginative setting and incredible writing. You will find yourself wishing to return to rapture several times. The gameplay is centered around using steampunk weaponry in combination with psychic powers called plasmids to burn, freeze, hack, maim, and sting your way through legions of deformed party-goers, little girls, and diving suit wearing giants. While the learning curve might be a little steep, the rewards are well worth the effort of playing through the entire story. You restore balance to the undersea city of rapture, and can either do it a la Luke Skywalker or a la Darth Vader, depending on your personal tastes. The graphics are gorgeous when run on maximum settings, and don't lose too much detail on the more processor-friendly levels. I heartily recommend Bioshock to anyone interested in a good single-player game containing depth and an intriguing plot. Join the cult of Rapture.”

“It's so weird. I've literally spent about 80 dollars on games the last few weeks - All on the Steam Summer Sale they had going on. I couldn't help it. Sounded like a steal of a deal. I mean, $80 USD...”

“Man this game gives me the creeps. I recommend playing it though, but keep it away from young eyes as its not for kids at all. I was slightly offended by some biblical stuff within the game and would rather they leave that out, but other than that I don't mind the leeches. There's lots of fun in the game with disabling robots, and getting interesting weapons to fight with. You can do everything from flinging an armload of bees at your enemies to freezing them and bashing them into a pile of chips. The graphics are very good but you'll need a good PC to get the best out of it. ”

“I liked the retro style of the game, cool weapons with different types of ammo. You can define your own style selecting the plasmids and tonics you like. 3 endings dependings how you've played the game.”

“This is possibly the most disappointing game I have played in recent years. As a narrative designer, I was excited to play what many described as masterful storytelling and an enchanting world. Sadly, what I discovered was a slightly clunky storyline, with poor pacing and gameplay that possesses all the subtlety of the Serious Sam series without the latter's sense of irony.
People look at me like I am crazy when I say that I didn't like it, but there you go...”

“Finally got around to trying out the demo on Steam. Seems fairly interesting from the short time it allowed for play so far. Might have to go ahead and pick this one up in the near future.”
