DESCRIPTION
The sequel to the classic RPG Betrayal at Krondor, Betrayal in Antara returns players to author Raymond Feist's vision of a fantasy world. Players arrive on the scene toward the end of the Antaran Empire, where corruption is rampant and decadent nobles engage in vicious struggles for power. Amidst this crumbling infrastructure, a sinister plot—one that involves political manipulation, secret societies, assassinations, and kidnapping—begins to unfold, and players are caught right in the middle of it.
The world of the game is viewed from a first-person perspective. Players wander, interacting with the denizens of the land and searching for evidence of the sinister conspiracy that threatens the Empire. Dungeons, towns, castles, and more can be explored. Hundreds of weapons, items, and spells will have to be used to destroy the evil creatures you'll encounter. When engaged in combat, the view switches into a 2D overview of the surrounding area, which is divided into hexes. At this point things are handled in a turn based manner until the enemies are dead or the player's party is defeated, when it switches back into 3D mode. ~ Scott Steinberg, All Game Guide
