DESCRIPTION
The sequel to the role playing game Betrayal at Krondor, Betrayal in Antara returns players to author Raymond Feist's vision of a fantasy world. Players arrive on the scene toward the end of the Antaran Empire, where corruption is rampant and decadent nobles engage in vicious struggles for power.
Amidst this crumbling infrastructure, a sinister plot involving political manipulation, secret societies, assassination, and kidnapping begins to unfold with the player thrust into the middle of the fray.
The game world is viewed from a first-person perspective. Players wander the world in this manner, interacting with the denizens of the land and searching for evidence of the sinister conspiracy that threatens the Empire. Dungeons, towns, castles, and more can be explored and hundreds of weapons, items, and spells will have to be used to destroy the evil creatures encountered.
When engaged in combat, the view switches to a 2D overview of the surrounding area that is divided into hexes. At this point, actions are handled in a turn-based manner until the enemies are dead or the player's party defeated. ~ Scott Steinberg, All Game Guide
