DESCRIPTION
Battleship for the Game Gear is a videogame version of Milton Bradley's famous board game. Each player has four ships with sizes ranging from two to five squares in length. Before starting, the two players must secretly position their ships on a grid. The object: to destroy all of the other player's ships before yours are destroyed. Players take turns shooting missiles at one square on each other's grid; if the grid is occupied by a part of a ship, the shot is considered a hit. Destroy the CPU's arsenal of ships in each level to win. After a victory, view stats for that stage as well as collect a password to skip right to the next stage in the future. If the CPU destroys all player-controlled ships, the CPU wins and it's game over. In addition to the standard single-shot missiles, players are given four multiple warhead missile shots that carry anywhere from four to six warheads, and hit a predefined pattern with all its warheads in one turn. You can choose between arsenals at any point in the game, but only fire one each of the four multiple warhead shots. Single missile shots are infinite. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
