Before Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, the Anglo-Allied and Royal Prussian Army of the Lower Rhine had a chance to stop the French emperor's advance in a pair of battles known as Ligny and Quatre Bras. Now, TalonSoft, Inc. gives you the chance to try your hand at halting Napoleon's quest to rule the Empire in Battleground 8: Prelude to Waterloo. As an added bonus, results from this game can be imported into a previous title in the series, Battleground 3: Waterloo to create an extended campaign game.
Battleground 8: Prelude to Waterloo features turn-based play, and continues the TalonSoft, Inc. tradition of accurately depicting details of all aspects of the battles, including historical troop strengths and weaponry, uniforms, and strategic ploys in the form of multiple historical and "what if" scenarios. Player options include level of computer control, choice of army to manage and player preferences (manual, automatic, fog of war, commander level, etc.), as well as optional rules for customizing gameplay. ~ Michael L.
