Battlefield 1943 is a multiplayer-only FPS set during WWII. You're either on the allied team or the imperial team, fighting to control capturepoints scattered through the map. The team with the less capture points gradually loses points, and when all points are depleted the round is over and the team loses.
Players can choose from 1 of 3 classes of soldiers each time they respawn: infantry (bazooka), rifleman (anti-infantry) and sniper (sniper and explosive charges). Each has weapons of different power and is thus more effective fighting some foes than others.
You also have 3 types of vehicles. Jeeps get you quickly from point A to point B. Tanks do what they're supposed to do: sow death and destruction in their path. Airplanes are more or less random. They can't capture flags, but good pilots can still rain fire and misery on their helpless foes. Planes are vulnerable to anti-air batteries, of which there are usually 3 or 4 on well chosen elevated positions on the map. Those batteries are very vulnerable to snipers, though, so sometimes you die without knowing where the shot came from.

What I like in this game is that there are several ways to play. You can be a sniper and camp in a position, you can be a pilot and bomb your enemies (which is very hard to learn), you can drive a tank.

When you die, you respawn very quickly, in something like 10 seconds, barely enough to grab a glass of water. If you joined a squad, you can respawn next to one of your squad mates, so you respawn right there where the action is.

You also have infinite ammo, and life regenerates automatically between fights. This means that you just have to worry about the current fight. You don't have to be stingy with the ammo, and if you survive a fight you're good as new for the next one.
Most of the buildings are destructible. This means that in the start of the game you take cover near the flag you're capturing, but as the tanks and the planes destroy them, you have to stand in the open while capturing those flags.

All in all, this is a game which goes straight to the point. You bought this game to shoot at people, this game allows you to do that, without being distracted by superfluous things like logistics, story (there's just a short summary at the start and the end of each round), and waiting (yes, I'm looking at you, Counter-Strike).

4 stars because the game isn't ambitious, but is cheap, straight to the point, effective, and most importantly, fun.”

The game is fun, quick to just jump in to and it’s an addictive game. With only 3 maps it is surprisingly deep as a game a $15.00 I might add.
Hopefully one day…EA will add servers.

Also if you have played Battlefield: Bad Company you will feel like your playing the almost same game. Overall though the game plays well, graphics are good so I would have to say it is worth the 800 ms points spent on it.”
