DESCRIPTION
Battle Flip Shot, developed by Visco and released in 1998, is a cross between Pong and Street Fighter II where players can participate in the single-player flip shot tournament with one of five characters, or two players can compete against each other in an arena viewed from a top down perspective. The object of the game is to bounce the ball into another character's half and destroy his or her targets while protecting your own. Two characters compete at a time with one starting at the left side of the arena and the other at the right. Characters, equipped with a shield to bounce a ball, may only move within his or her half of the arena with a row of targets at the back edge of their arena half. The game ends when one character destroys the others' targets or when the timer counts down to zero. To aid in the decimation a sliding maneuver allows players to move in any direction much faster, but at the cost of accuracy. Each character also has a unique special technique, unleashed by pressing the A button while deflecting the ball. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
