DESCRIPTION
This turn-based console role-playing game leads players through an epic story that follows two very different heroes, Kalas and Xelha, who join together to save their world. Their world is a place where people live on continents that float high in the sky, and the oceans once below are a near-forgotten legend. The structure of the gameplay is based on "Magnus" cards, which can be used to capture and store essences of items and creatures. There are over 1,000 different types of Magnus cards in the game, and only by learning to collect, use, and combine the powers of these cards can the two heroes hope to save their world. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

“Very original game, very original concept, the world's were mind boggling sometimes. Also, even though it was a card based battle system, it pulled it off very well. I didn't mind one bit.”

“Grafica stupenda e la migliore OST di Sakuraba fanno di Baten kaitos un gioco meraviglioso! Mi piange troppo il cuore che Baten kaitos Origins non sia mai uscito in Europa :(”

“I wanna earn my wings. This game is a classic title for GameCube. The controls are difficult to get used to, but once you do the game play is a lot of fun. I found the story a bit derivative though...”

“The dialogue was cheesy and the story was rather generic. With that being said, the world was truly fantastical and the combat, despite being card-based, was actually pretty fun. It lacked complexity due to the nature of randomly drawn cards.”
