DESCRIPTION
Asteroids for the Atari 7800 doesn't try to be an arcade-perfect translation of the 1979 classic, but that's okay. It retains the spirit and fun while adding some elements of play that make it a purely refreshing gaming experience — especially for those burned out on the original game. This version has a couple of two player modes (competitive and team) that add immeasurably to the game's replay value and fun factor. From a visual standpoint, the asteroids, which were vector-based line drawings in the original game, are now colorfully textured. In terms of audio, the Jaws-like refrain remains intact. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
