DESCRIPTION

Armor Ambush is a top-down, 2-player-only, tank combat game, similar to the tank games found in Atari's Combat, only more complex. You and your opponents are tank commanders on a battlefield complete with roads, trees, water, and buildings where terrain effects your tanks' movements, roads being the fastest ground, while water hazards are the slowest. Players start with two tanks each to blast opponents. Switch command from one tank to the other to out-maneuver your opponents, but be careful, while maneuvering one tank, your reserve tank can come under attack. When a player destroys both of his opponents' tanks (each tank requires 3 shots destroy), the battlefield switches to a differently laid out scenario and the war continues. The game ends when a player losses all 25 of his tanks. Setting the difficulty switch to setting 'A' to make shots rebound off solid objects can modify this two-player combat. ~ Michael Schwartz/Joan Dykman, All Game Guide
