A progenitor of the popular NBA Jam series, Arch Rivals is a fun (and funny) two-on-two "basketbrawl" in which it is perfectly acceptable (and even strategically recommended) to punch opponents in the face and pull down their shorts. Eight distinctive, nicely drawn characters are available for selection: Mohawk, physical and mean; Vinnie, a superstar; Hammer, rebounder supreme; Blade, a crowd pleaser; Tyrone, defensive specialist; Moose, a champ among champs; Lewis, shooting wizard; and Reggie, the all-American Michael Jordan look-alike. Thanks to a "Hometown Heroes" kit, Arcade operators can change team names and colors to reflect local, professional or otherwise different basketball teams.
