Sony Japan's quirky Gacha Mecha series returns to the States, thanks once again to publisher Ubi Soft. While there's still an abundance of loose, siren-helmet-wearing monkeys, this third Ape Escape game is made up of various athletic competitions. Familiar characters return, and players will still find the games' assortment of unlockable power-ups and special equipment as useful as ever, but in Pumped & Primed they may spend as much time racing through platform levels and duking it out in chaotic melee battles as they will sneaking up on escaped apes. Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed offers two main modes of play. The "Story" mode leads players through over 40 levels of athletically themed action, with eight boss battles. The "Versus" mode is designed for two to four (with a Multi-tap accessory) players, and presents more than 20 tournament-style party game challenges. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
