DESCRIPTION
The time is the early 17th century and there are plenty of newly-discovered islands to explore. Anno 1602: Creation of a New World lets you board a ship bound for these strange, distant lands and gives you a choice of deserted islands to colonize.
It's your job to build a thriving, successful colony on your island. Not only must every human need be considered and provided to ensure that your people survive and thrive, but your town must be built for efficient trade with other lands as well, as this is how you will gain power.
Indeed, you are not alone in your endeavors, as there are other races determined to build their own trading empires. It is up to you to choose between diplomacy and war when you interact with these competitors. The winner is the nation with the most capital and power and in the end, it makes little difference whether these are gained by hook or by crook.
Developed by Sunflowers Interactive Entertainment Software GmbH of Germany, this 3D strategy game was also published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by Sunflowers with the "standard" box art. Infogrames Deutschland published the game in France, England, Italy and Spain with the alternate "Sunset" box art and in Japan, Taiwan and Korea with yet another exclusive alternate version of the cover graphics. ~ Nick Smith, All Game Guide
