Aliens Versus Predator 2: Gold Edition includes Aliens Versus Predator 2, the 2001 sequel to the original 1999 title, and the 2002 Aliens Versus Predator 2: Primal Hunt expansion. Based on characters from the Aliens Versus Predator film series, the FPS Aliens Versus Predator 2 offers both single and multiplayer action in the roles of all three antagonists — the human Marine, the elusive Predator, and the various forms of the deadly Alien. As in the movies, all three races have unique strengths, abilities and weaknesses, with specific weapons designed for each.

The expansion pack, Aliens Versus Predator 2: Primal Hunt, incorporates the numerous Internet updates that followed the release of the parent game, and provides a list of the changes via the CD "read me" files. In addition to nine new single player missions and four new multiplayer levels, Primal Hunt offers a host of new weapons, tools and abilities for all races. New multiplayer extras include the ability of the Predator to self-destruct with less than 10% health remaining, a PredAlien Headbite, turret and sentry guns, and more. ~ Michael L.
