Following the lead of the original, Age of Wonders II combines empire building, role-playing, and strategic combat for turn-based challenges in a fantasy world. In the role of an ageless Wizard-King, players direct their forces to defend the homeland, build up powerful armies, and claim new territory. Lead one of 12 races to ultimate domination, choosing from folklore factions such as the Elves, the Dwarves, the Halflings, or even the Undead. Over thirty champion heroes are available to lend their aid to the cause, bringing new strength and tactical possibilities. Customize arcane powers through specialization in one of seven spheres of magic. Up to eight players can do battle together in one of the game's numerous multiplayer modes. ~ T.J.
