DESCRIPTION
Much as the DS' original Age of Empires was so improbably successful of capturing the desktop Age of Kings' real-time strategy experience in a turn-based handheld game, Age of Empires: Mythologies aims to deliver the series' supernatural spin-off in accessible, portable form. Mythologies is built on the DS' Age of Kings game engine and plays similarly. In each scenario, players harvest resources, build and upgrade their fortresses or cities, and create new working and fighting units, to overwhelm or defeat enemy forces on the map. Scripted missions are available in three main, overlapping single-player storylines. The game offers options for customizable one-off matches and multiplayer battles, as well. Three main forces are available for play, each with different strengths and weaknesses. In command of Greek, Norse, or Egyptian units, players gain access to different buildings, units, and special abilities. As in the PC original, players can devote their civilization's allegiance to certain gods in their pantheon, to build up their spiritual capital toward calling down game-changing divine powers on the battlefield. ~ T.J. + Gods. Yes, they've retained these from the PC game and it's still fun.
+ Download play. Hotseat has never been easier and you might be limited in maps for this mode you don't have any restrictions imposed upon the mechanics, which is pretty rare tbh.
+ Mythology! woot!
+ Relics. Like in the pc version, these add some really nice effects and Pandora's box is awesome (altough not really usefull xD)
- Buildings. Pretty limited still: you can build at a nine or so pre-determined spots 'till you find an expension base, only to be limited to the same number of spots again.”
