DESCRIPTION
Takashi Okazaki's brutal anti-hero hacks and slashes for Justice on HD consoles. Afro Samurai is a man driven by revenge, stopping at nothing in his quest to slay the one who murdered his father and then claim the Number One headband as his own, with all the glory and power it bestows. Players take the role of Afro to battle through scenes of swordplay and special effects, in a flowing, third-person action style. The look of the game resembles a finely drawn cartoon, with detailed, outlined characters against backdrops that give the appearance of a watercolor and ink painting. The game is based directly on the animé adventures of the vengeful swordsman. It features the voice of Samuel L. Jackson as Afro and an original, hip-hop soundtrack composed by The RZA. ~ T.J. “Some interesting (and perplexing) design choices have really turned me off this game, so much so that I stuffed it in the mailbox and sent it back to Gamefly. Twitchy controls, spastic enemy AI,...”

“I watched both animes, I played the game and I love it. The atmosphere is great, controls are fine, camera is like in every game of this type sometimes crappy, but overall said, I had not so much...”

“More hacky, more slashy, but the story is very interesting, and as I mentioned last time SAMUEL L JACKSON.”

“Started rocking this game. Lots of hackity-slashing going on, and buckets of fun. :D”

“New game! God bless Gamefly. Lots of hack, lots of slash, but the style, art, music, and vocal talents of one Samuel L. Jackson can cover a multitude of sins.”

“I dont know why people are hatin on this game. The graphics are great and very much in the same style as the videos. Surprisingly so actually. Combat is sort of so/so hack and slash at first until you really learn to master the focus mode. Once you get a handle on that you start to see the simplistic beauty of the game and it doesn't seem as hard as it is initially. The sound track on this game really puts it over the top. That's what earned the 5th star for me. I find myself playing the game over again just to jam out. Same dark adult sense of humor in the game that made the series popular. A solid all-around game. Dig it, especially for the price!”

“Bleh, I'm at Okiku's Story, endboss, and it's giving me trouble. It's been so long since I've actually played this I forgot the strategy I used for him. I'll figure something out soon enough....”
