DESCRIPTION
Adventures to Go! is a console-style role-playing game with unusual dungeon customization options and a lighthearted sense of humor. Not only do players choose a well-rounded team of warriors and wizards, and guide the development of these fledgling heroes as they gain experience and grow more powerful, but they also can modify the areas and dungeons through which these characters quest. The game follows the story of young Finn Courtland, whose greatest ambitions involve wealth and fame. Along with a band of like-minded mercenaries and other adventurers, Finn explores the countryside and does battle with monsters in turn-based combat on grid-lined battlefields. Each character in the fight has different abilities and a limited number of actions that can be taken each turn, so thinking strategically and using good team tactics are the keys to victory.
Customizable quests come into play at the in-game offices of the "Adventures to Go" prospecting firm in town, where Finn and his friends are hired for most of their missions. At the office, players can determine the terrain and monsters their heroes will face in the random battles of their next quest. For a fee, players can choose more difficult monsters and more challenging settings. This opportunity for dungeon customization adds a layer of risk-and-reward, as more challenging quests pose greater profits, but also greater chances of failure and loss. While Finn is focused on gold and glory, the quests he accepts lead him to confrontations with the evil demon-master Arbitus. Success in battle with this overlord and his minions wins wealth and fame for Finn, indeed, but also just might lead the young fortune hunter and his friends to save the world while they're at it. ~ T.J. “I'm surprised nobody's worked on a strategy guide yet. No problem, because I'll try my best to fill that niche. But darn it, there are some things I wish this game would do to help make my job a bit...”

“This seems to be another one of Global A's "design your own levels"-type games. It's only $15 this week in the PlayStation Store, so I guess I'll check it out. Too bad there aren't any...”
