DESCRIPTION
One night, you have a strange dream, a dream of being transported far to the north, where almost an entire valley is filled with a glacier. Imprisoned in the glacier is a castle. That is all you see before the darkness takes you.
You wake up in the Mayor's house in New Verdigris, naked and bereft of all your equipment. The Mayor tells you the town has need of heroes . . .
Secret of the Silver Blades, the third installment in the Pool of Radiance Saga, takes your heroes on an adventure through the valley, down deep into the gem mines that New Verdigris is famous for, and into the glacier itself for a fight to the castle locked within and a battle with the ultimate evil, the Dreadlord.
Along the way, your characters will meet new monsters and gain new, more powerful magic devices than the ones they have lost. This game also allows you to store excess magic items and money in the town vault. These items, once stored, can be accessed any time they are needed simply by returning to town.
Also introduced in this game are teleporters that return PCs to the Well of Knowledge, a central point in the game. The well is inhabited by a spirit that provides answers to riddles contained in the game, for a fee of 100 gems. Parties without the necessary fee are repelled from the well until they have the gems. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
