DESCRIPTION
Namco's top-selling Ace Combat series soars onto Xbox 360 with support for up to 16 players. A new graphics engine attempts to create photorealistic environments and aircraft, while more expanded missions feature up to 300 targets to seek out and destroy. The futuristic single-player campaign follows multiple characters from the fictional country of Emmeria, which has been attacked by the neighboring nation of Estovakia. As part of the Emmerian Air Force, players must fight back in a series of 15 missions across land and sea. A total of 14 planes are available to pilot, including an F-15E Strike Eagle, F-22 Raptor, Su-33 Flanker-D, and an A-10A Thunderbolt II.
Fires of Liberation is the first Ace Combat game to include online action in four distinct play modes. Battle Royale is a 16-player free-for-all where each defeated rival is worth a point. Team Battle follows the same format, only with two custom-sized teams against each other instead of every man for himself. Siege Battle, which supports up to eight players, has one team trying to take out a specific target as quickly as possible while a second team defends. Finally, Cooperative Mode lets up to four friends join forces to challenge the computer in a choice of missions. Leaderboards are available for each online game mode, with special titles awarded to those who achieve specific milestones. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation takes air combat warfare to new heights as it boasts the new "Dynamic Operation System" where massive battles unfold on a "living battlefield," as up to six independent land, sea or air conflicts can break out at any time at multiple locations as allies and enemies clash in real-time. Players can experience the realism of war when battlefields come alive with engagingly authentic audio and visual effects: thundering explosions, dense vapor trails of air to air missiles, piercing machine gun fire, booming anti-aircraft artillery fire, mid-air explosions, gigantic columns of black smoke and more.
Prove your supremacy on a global scale as you pilot highly detailed, authentic aircraft online via Xbox Live. For an all out worldwide battle for the sky, players can choose from a variety of different online modes including the death match and team death match style game modes. Or they can team up with friends to play in co-op, where players combine strategy and skill to work together to take on computer-controlled adversaries.

“What a better way to kill an awsome series than have the HUD be barely visible. Great job. I've bought every single one since AC4, and will not buy another....ever.”

“For me, this is the kind of game I love. Intense, balls to the wall action. Play it late at night, sit up close to the TV frying your brain, and you'll begin to think that you're actually the pilot. You'll be ducking from explosions. Great game!”

“Solid story. Controls are tight, although the learning curve with the flight stick is insane. A great game to play through if you want something non-FPS.”

“Breath-taking landscapes, awesome anime-like dog-fighting and an amazing cast of supporting characters that really make you feel like you're in the air. The story needs a bit of work, but it's an epic game that drags you right into the cockpit.”
