The EA Canada development team behind the critically acclaimed NHL 09 heads to the ice once again in 3 on 3 NHL Arcade, a stripped-down, revved-up version of hockey where anything goes. Gamers take control of three-man teams, choosing from outsized "bobblehead" versions of 40 of the NHL's most talented players. Power-ups fall to the ice whenever a bone-jarring hit is landed, letting gamers receive short bursts of super-speed or shrinking the opposing goalie to half of his regular size. Two separate control schemes are designed to make 3 on 3 NHL Arcade accessible to both rookie and veteran gamers, and online options include standard ranked matches as well as the ability to team up with two friends for worldwide three-on-three competition. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
