Sooo...last night we hopped into the world of 5v5 Arena for the first time as a guild. The team members were: - Iskar - Rogue
- Paliwhompus - Paladin
- Whickett - Mage
- Bizy - Mage
- Sqowndrill - Mage
Our first seven games were rather disappointing as we were slightly excited to just get one of them dead. We went up against some pretty geared teams with great composition. Iskar kept reiterating that we needed to focus our dps on one target at a time...and once we started doing that more as a team, things got a little better. We did end up winning the last 3 games of the 10 total.
Iskar was a great leader for us...considering he was dealing with poorly geared and newly minted teammates.
Paliwhompus did an amazing job healing considering most of the other teams had dual healers and he was busy trying to keep paper mache mages alive.
Whickett is our newest Arena player and he did surprisingly well after the first few games. He stayed on task and learned quickly what works and what doesnt.
Bizy & I did our usual magey type things, just trying to stay on Iskar's target and burn the pooey out of it.
All in all I think we did rather remarkably considering it was our first time in. I seriously expected to lose all 10 games...so those last 3 wins were a groovy bonus! Lets keep up the good work, keep supporting each other as a guild and as teammates and continue to Stick it to 'em!

RE: Our First 5v5 Arena Team Adventure!
I too was pleased with our overall outcome. We are a far cry from being considered a major threat, on the other hand with 3 mage types, 1 rogue, and 1 paladin I thought we did well. Just like sqowndrill i figured we would loose all 10 games.
Good job to all but I would like to thank Iskar for leading us in our first ever guild 5v5 arena debut.
Most improved over 10 game stretch definately goes to Whickett. First couple games he was dead in 2 sec flat.(its ok whickett thats what happens when you are all greened out ) At the end he was living longer wich inturn made the damage output that much higher.
I will love blizzard when they make the plate wearing mage class...because then i might be able to keep you squishy mage folk alive.
Again just wanted to add my congratulation's to the team! With continued practice we will be a "force to be reconed with"

RE: Our First 5v5 Arena Team Adventure!
so i think we have a good strategy, i know i need better gear, but once we lost a few we were in more of a competitive enviroment, and we started to do better. I think we ened VOIP to help us with strategy, especially because arena is so fast paced.
still had a great time and didnt get in to much trouble last night!!!!!.

RE: Our First 5v5 Arena Team Adventure!
I had a good time with our 5v5 team...We all know that our composition is off....you cant have that many mages and only one healer. I think that we actually do pretty well for what we are working with. I anyone would like to use a different toon to play in arena let us know. I know sqowndrill has other toons and so does bizy but the mages are the mains for both. We might want to think about trying to get a different mix, but none us us is so hardcore that it matters that much. The main thing is doing this as a guild! VOIP would be great. Unfortunately I don't think that anyone wants to pay for the use of teamspeak of ventrillo.
I want to say GOOD JOB! to all of us. I really do think that we do pretty well with what we have.

RE: Our First 5v5 Arena Team Adventure!
readin through this blog again triggered a though about pallys comment and yes id like to get my shammy up to arena asap so im workin in its nother version of a sheild wearing caster slash pinch healer and im enjoying the possibilitys of the combos. At 63 ive already crit my lightning bolts for 1900 with only 330 bonus damage and those each have a 20% chance to cast an additional bolt at no mana and no cast time for have of the previous hit. Ive on occasion done 5 instant casts in a row ending with a crit. Pally can comment to the nature of the damage he experienced first hand from a horde shammy just reciently. I wouuld like to see more shammy druid combos to rock the rankings of our personal rankings for the end game gear game arena. I will personally help all those making shammys lvl them up first priority. Was able to solo boglash at 62 and the naga bosses in zangar marsh at that same lvl so was plesently supprised. IMO i think shammy are made for pvp dps and pinch heals chain aoe ore chain heal.
