The Guild Wars 2 beta is this weekend! Don't get discouraged if the guild is pretty empty. We will all be trying out the new game and building the new Lair.

Just keep in mind, nothing we do in Beta passes into the game when it starts. But the expierience will be good for us =)

I will be running Ryu Morningstar as a Sylvari Ranger this Beta Event. Just letting the guild know so we can sync up.

I plan to create Tam as a Human Necromancer, but I might spend a little time checking out all the races first. I was originally going to make her a Sylvari. That conflicts a bit with her back story. Although I could reconcile it with some kind of twist where some how the new Tamara is descended from Daphne, since they are still sisters by blood. Daphne is a dryad, so I will roll her as a Sylvari for sure. I digress, It will be Tam for the beta. I have chosen Darkhaven to be our home world.

Wow, that's a lot of backstory. I am going with the ranger for this beta, next beta will be an asuran mesmer. Not sure how to work that into a back story when all my toons are humans =p. Maybe a reincarnation line?

One of the things I really enjoyed when I was creating new toons was coming up with names and back stories. All of my toons are half sisters in one way or another.

Ren's father was shanghaied by Corsairs, so the Nightfall girls are all descended from him, or a Vabian princess that he happened to charm. In the story he is presumed dead, and so is Ren's mother and Ren, after the searing.

Tam and Ren share the same mother, (a necromancer) but Tam's father was a traveling monk. He was based in Cantha but traveled all of Tyria, *ahem* "ministering". He was also a descendent of Timur Lane, (or Tamerlane)  but changed the spelling to Lain to distance himself from that past.

He forbad Tam's mom from teaching her necromancy, since he wanted her to be a monk, but since he didn't forbid Ren, she taught Tam the little she knew, and the rest is history!

Daphne is strange in that she is descendent of the magic that both Ren's father & Tams father, and blood sacrifices made by their mother on a berry tree, that the family depended on for berries. That tree, also an ancient dryad is Daphne's mother.... So they are related by blood, but also Daphne considers both men her fathers, since the fertility magic they used on her mother was responsible for her birth just as much as the blood was. Ren & Tam accept her as a sister, although her bond is stronger than theirs, as she spied on them when she was little, but her mother would not allow her to play with the humans that stole her unborn siblings to make pies.

Hmm.... let me give this a try.In 1022 AE, a young warrior named Tygris Morningstar, 18 years old an fresh from his academy training, accompanied Ermenred of Ascalon to Cantha. Where trade routes were reestablished between Cantha and Ascalon once again. There he met a Kurzick mesmer named Allyson Zu Heltzer. The story here should be off the trade negotiations at such a desperate time, but the untold story was of their love. She gave up her rights as a Zu Heltzer to marry a simple errand boy and returned with him to Ascalon. They had many children with the first being Morbius. A child that had a hero worship upon his father and worked very hard to become a warrior as powerful and as well known as his father. The next was Alastar, who showed a gift of magic from an early age and despite his mother's wishes, decided to join the Shing Jea monastary and train to be a monk. The second was the twins Elspeth and Allyssa. Both of whom showed magic potential, with Elspeth training with Necromancer Munne. Whilest her sister Alyssa trained with Rurik's love Althea. Ryu was the fourth child and spent most of his time with the animals of the country side, his favorite being his stalker, which he named Sir Purr. During this time, the Morning star family tree had branched out and Dargo and his Twin sister Migoto Morningstar where born. Though their parents were killed by the Corsairs while Dargo and Migoto were hunting berries for dinner,Allyson and Tygris took them to Ascalon and raised them there, till they decided to join the Sunspears and return to Elona. Ziaro and Morbito were of the Zu Heltzer line but chose to take the Morningstar name in rebellion. In 1070 AE, the Cataclysm occured. Just as the Morningstar children were in the middle of their individual training. Allyson was burned to death in their home just inside the Forest. Tygris became outraged and charged a line of Charr were he was cut down. So begins the long history of the Morningstar family.Interesting huh?

Too much info in that bit, I do have a few books i was writing when i was a bit younger. I have been told i have a bit of aa storyteller in my blood. Dang irish heritage =P.

We could always add an RP section to the forum. We had one on my old alliances forum. I posted all my back stories there, but unfortunately never copied them off of there after that alliance broke up. and last time I tried to visit that forum it was gone
