Everyone is invited, bring your family, friends and kin for a great day!
Bands and soloists are invited, as are skilled cooks and crafters who can set up stalls and sell their items (trade)

Introducing Guides
Posted by Quesada on 21-Mar-08 11:18am
A summary of the 'Guides Role.'
Written by Rohawyn.
Officers who act as guides are important to help others enjoy the game and not be stuck. But they can be called on too much. Remember:
- Guides can be asked to help with epic and difficult fellowships if you cannot find fellowships, or to pass a level of crafting. To help you carry on with important storylines.
- Guides can be called on a maximum of two times per week per guide per member. They are allowed to say no. 'Later' means you can ask them later.
- Guides should not be called to help with solo quests unless you have tried and failed three times.
- Guides should not be called on to help with a quest more than 3 levels higher than you. This makes it hard to keep you alive and is 'powerlevelling.'
- Guides should not be called for treasure alone - the quest must be defending the people in some way or something you need to do.
- Guides have their own quests to do too. It is best to ask kinsmen who have the same quest as you if there are any around.
- Every defender in the Alliance should try fellowships with other folk and members, not just guides.
You can invite anyone to adventure with you, not just guides. Many fellowship quests can be done by two people.
(edit) Ahh yes... and guides can also join you as friends, not just as guides, if they want to, especially if they have the same quest.
Keeping my Westron proper for this one.

Roles of Officers
Posted by Quesada on 21-Mar-08 11:16am
Below is the roles of officers and how they work.
Written by Rohawyn.
Officers are here to help ye and each has a responsibility. Best to ask the officer in charge of the thing ye need, but should ye be confused, ask Rohawyn or any.
Warleaders - Siadoc in the Ettenmoors, Ariawen in the Misty Mountains, either in Angmar and other places
Warleaders muster the strong at arms to strike back at Angmar and Mordor. Their role will grow as we gain experience. ((They will organise a muster for a battle fellowship or raid weekly, most weeks)).
Guides for epic quests - Vidor, Kyle, Ariawen, Rohawyn
The Guides go out of their way to help less experienced members complete important or epic quests and battles where ye struggle. We will try to gather a few of you who need do do the quest on the same evening for a difficult battle.
Craft Officers - Durmacar - on leave
The Craft Officer will be happy to give advice or look it up for you. Need hides or wood treating? Just ask. Craft Officers should advise on mastery and an there be need help hunt for mastery items.
Keepers of the Scrolls ((website admins)) Beogarnath and Ariawen
The Keepers approve new members on the website, keep it organised, and defend it against invasions such as spam. We bring you official news about the world and change the look. All members are welcome to start conversations, put up news and start voting - but we Keepers have it as a duty.
Storyteller - Beogarnath
The Storyteller is the kinship journalist. He writes regular news on the website, especially of things achieved by the kin. He will also start story conversation in kinship and on the website. Members are welcome to send news to the Storyteller, or add it themselves.
Party Officer - Rohawyn
The Party ((and Roleplay)) Officer is charged with organising fun events - always a tricky job ! Intriguing kinship conversations are also part of this role. Ideas welcome.
Kinship Bank - Inic courtesy of Rohawyn.
The Kinship Bank stores and gives out anything members want to donate to the Kinship. Members can ask Inic or Rohawyn if they really want something, but Inic will also be sending out gifts to members who are the right level and have been seen recently. This includes a swanky dagger courtesy of Darb - ((race to level 43, dagger wielders !))
Recruitment - All Officers
Should you, a member of our kinship, want help, ask any officer and we will sort something out for you.
((Please note this is for help in the game not in real life, and do not ask for anything that is against the rules of the game such as real money)).

Kinship Rules
Posted by Quesada on 21-Mar-08 11:14am
-Kinship Charter-
Inviting
Any officer may recruit kin members. The idea is that the new member should be of interesting character ((show they can roleplay)) and be willing to defend the Free Peoples against orcs and the evils of Angmar.
Officership
Any member may be considered for officership. They must have helped other members, and have one of those people speak for them. They must have been fairly active in the last two weeks. They should also say which role they will help in. The officers will meet 1-2 weeks later and vote on whether to promote that officer.
Demoting Officers
Any officer who is absent for a month without leaving a message will be demoted. We will mail them in-game and if possible we will email them out of game.
Booting from the Kinship
This is the bit we all hate and hope not to have to do, but here is how it works. Any member who has not been seen ((online)) for two months will be removed. We will mail them in-game and if possible we will email them out of game.
If three complaints from different people are received about one member being rude, the Officers will at their next meeting discuss whether that member should be removed. We will hear from the accused member and any members who want to say something. Then the officers will vote and decide whether to boot the accused person from the kinship.
If a member is very abusive in kinship chat, asks for real credit card numbers, and other griefing which is against the rules of LOTRO, they could be removed immediately but it will be discussed at an officer meeting within two weeks. Anyone who is interested may attend. Again, the ex-member may speak, and other members may speak, before the officers vote.
We also appreciate the opinions of other members. But tis easier for us officers to reach agreement in the span of a single week. We are good at deciding things together, we've done well so far. And Officers will put the time into giving members what you want and need - if we don't, ask for it on this website !
Behaviour Inside The Game
We expect members of the Alliance to become dedicated members to the kinship. This does not mean you have to play the game every day and reach 50 within a week. We just want you to become a part of the kinship, interact with us and get to know us.
Spamming the Kinship chat is not welcome, if you require something such as help with a quest or gathering some crafting resources, ask once. Members of the kinship will reply, if you recieve a no, feel free to try again later.
Abusive or bad language to other members in a harmful way will result in a warning, if you do this once more you will be instantly removed from the kinship. A kinship is for making friends, not enemies.
Girls of the kinship have as many rights as you do, you do not have the right to begin excessively flirting with a female of the kinship. Girls of the kinship will be willing to have fun, but if you do take it a step to far you will recieve a warning, or further action may be taken. Also note, that a girl or boy in real life, could easily be the opposite sex.
Activity in the Kinship
As a member of the Kinship you are expected to attend events that have been organized when possible. If you are not able to, this is not a problem, but try to attend some often.
If you are going on holiday, contact 'Rohawyn' or any currently active officers in the game, so they know the reason for your inactivity.
If you are inactive from the Kinship for 2 months, you will be removed. If you wish to rejoin, feel free to contact any of our officers or 'Rohawyn' and reinstate your oath.

Welcome!
Posted by Quesada on 21-Mar-08 10:49am
Welcome, make yourself comfortable and read on. We are the Alliance of the Free People, a kinship of characterful adventurers. Some hail from Rohan, others from the Shire, and many of us are wanderers by habit.
The aim of this Kinship is to undo the works of and overthrow the Evil that has spread across the lands, and while doing so to remain of good cheer and enjoy each other's company. We do welcome new members of like goals, whether for a strong arm, a quick mind or a lively tongue!
Ye are most likely viewing this book at the Town Hall, or have come to Greenway where we keep a watch. Among ourselves, we have a service provided by the riders who deliver mail. They send some of the messages by pigeon and some by smoke signals over long distances. We also welcome all who fight to keep people's homes free of Mordor and Angmarin rule to leave us a note on our message boards.
We are a role-playing kinship on the Laurelin Server of the Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO), accepting and welcoming new roleplaying members.
If anyone has any ideas of Events or Raids they'd like to see the Kinship involved in, drop us a thread in the Events Folder of our forum.
