Officer- Elections + Votes

Posted by Tarquinii on 01-Mar-08 02:52am

Officer elections have now started!! This is how it will work...

  1. On forums, post a thread saying who you would elect to be an officer. The person has to be elected, then been backed up by another election. If the player recieves an 2x elections of different players, they will then have to accept or decline the nomination to become an officer.
  2. ALL this will be done on forums apart from the voting process. Which will take place later.
  3. If you don't understand, send me a tell in game and ill explain to you.
Please start posting below who you would like to elect for the 2 open officer roles. Good luck!
NOTE: THESE ARE NOMINATIONS ONLY! DO NOT VOTE!

Welcome!

Welcome to The Children Of Hurin!

We would like to make your stay in 'The Children of Hurin' be a pleasant one! We are a new, developing, friendly kinship. We run all sorts of events, such as: Great Barrow, Garth Agarwen, Fornost, Urugarth, Carn Dum and even book runs!...eventually we will when we have established further rift raids and perhaps Helegrod plans will arise.

Why 'The Children of Hurin'?
The Children of Hurin, are a group of three children. Turin was the best of the three. The warrior. The leader. Later on in his life, his home town was taken under control by the men of Rhun. Therefore, he flee to a hidden city in a mountainous region, the king of the city adopts him. Over time he becomes closer friends with 'Beleg' (My alt..how funny!)...blah!..blah!..blah! The second child is with her mother 'Morwen', who remained in the town after the Men of Rhun invaded.
So, where does 'Hurin' come into all this? Hurin, who's married to Morwen. Hurin goes to war, some place in Middle-Earth in the first age. Hurin is the last man standing in the war. Holding them off as hard as he could. Eventually, he got captured and taken to an enemy fortress. Morgoth imprisons him and mentally tortures him by forcing to watch his family die through his own eyes...
That's basically the history of 'The Children of Hurin'. What has all that got to do with our kinship? Well...we are the last living descendants of Hurin. We fight for our cause. We fight for Eriador to hold back the Shadows of Angmar!

Forums
What are our forums used for? 'The Children of Hurin' organise many events, for our members, run officer election, and other fun kin activites. That's why we have forums. ALL members of the kinship MUST be registered to the forums to be enabled to be promoted from a recruit to a member after 1 week. This will enable you to keep track of events happening. Who, what, when, where, things like this are vital if you wish to take part in events! and you must join the event through the forums and NOT the game so that you are guaranteed a place.

Future Plans...
As the kinship grows older and gains more members, we hope to extend our fellowship events to raid events hopefully. Such as: The Rift of Nurz Ghasu, Helegrod and Bogbereth...all this will happen in the long run. What's most important are our 'nearer future plans'
Here is a list of the kinship life span ranks and what benefits are gained by achieving them;

  • Rank 1 - Creation: Kinship Chat, max 1000 members
  • Rank 2 - 24 hrs: Message of the Day, max 1000 members
  • Rank 3 - 4 days: Kinship Titles, max 1000 members
  • Rank 4 - 10 days: Officer Chat, max 1000 members
  • Rank 5 - 30 Days: Kinship Mail, max 1000 members
  • Rank 6 - 60 Days: Kinship Auctions, max 1000 members
  • Rank 7 - 90 days: Kinship Housing, max 1200 members
  • Rank 8 - 180 days: max 1300 members
  • Rank 9 - 270 days: max 1400 members
  • Rank 10 - 360 days: max 1500 members

Kinship Housing
Yes. I know we are planning a bit ahead already but these things take preparation and time to organize. As most of you know a vote took place in chat that the house will be located in the 'Bree-Land Homesteads', preferably the Grenglin housing area.
The kinship house costs around 17g 335s with a weekly upkeep of 335s. How do we pay for all this? Well we came up with the idea of a kinship lottery to help raise money for the house and also for a chance for players to win a larger amount of cash! (See lottery post for more details)
What will we use the house for? Our kinship house is a huge help for the kinship banking system, which will be more talked about close to the time. We can show off our achievments to our neighbours such as:
  • Sambrogs Helmet
  • Ivar's Banner
  • Narhuil's Dress (Red-maid)
  • Thaurlach's blade
  • Thorog's Skull...
etc...
A ranger of events will be held there, ideas have been raised about kin metings, trafe fayre's, sparring tournaments, meeting place. Of course we are all looking forward to rank 7, but 90 days of 'Children of Hurin' events and fun will fly by....
