Guild Structure

So here's my plan looking at how this guild will tackle end game content.

Ranks
Officers
Awesomes
Members
Alts
Trails
New (just for me to track new invites)

Since the final content in the game is the enemy leaders, which are an instanced encounter which require a battlegroup of 24, thats the number I'm going to try to focus around.  There are going to be 4 officers, and 20 Awesome status members.  These players are going to have priority for end game content groups, other members will act as fillers for the absent 24.  This will apply to any instanced content that limits our numbers, as well as certain scenario nights.

What does this mean for you?  One of two things.  Either you're playing to have fun, mess around and kick some ass, but aren't too worried about being hardcore.  Which is fine, you'll likely be a member status and due to the open nature of PvP (keeps, fortresses, city attacks), and the many scenario groups we'll have going, there will be plenty of guild activities to do.

But for those interested in taking on the more organized, end game stuff as well as optomized ass kicked, you'll want to get to Awesome status.  How do you do that?

1. Be the right class.  Play what you want to play, but realize there's limits to how many of a class you can take in a set group.  There's room for variation (ie. WPs as melee DPS)  Here's a rough idea:
6 healers
4 tanks
8 ranged DPS
6 melee DPS

2.  Play the role that best benefits the group.  Healers should heal.  Witch hunters should spec MS.  BWs should have some survivability stats so they aren't a burden to healers.  Tanks should be active in protecting casters while maintaining useful DPS.  The game is new, so our roles aren't fully realized yet, but the ability to adapt to what is needed is key.  Complaining about having to perform a certain role doesn't inspire your teammates to do their best either.

3.  Being active.  I don't mean quit your job and play all day.  But using the time you do play productively.  Paying attention to scheduled events and not being oblivious when one is going on.  Reading this post is a good start, but if you're a theorycrafter, post ideas and thoughts you have.  If you love mods, post useful ones for those of us who hate searching for them.  Group with potential members and push them our way, scouting for talent is a huge, huge help.

The 24 listed as awesome status will always be subject to change, players not pulling their weight, or going inactive without notice will be replaced with others looking towards end game activities.

Side note:  Based on my raiding experience, the odds of getting 24/24 online for something is beyond impossible, so there's going to plenty of room for members to participate in anything this guild is capable of.  The idea is just for us to have a planned set of people we can rely on most of the time.
