"The SpecNav trooper was a joint operation between the Ubiqtorate and the Imperial Navy to create mobile infantry that did not require the use of the Imperial Army. The navy's aim was to eliminate their dependency on the army as the SpecNav Force troopers would be the first on the battlefield and serve as an advance force. The Ubiqtorate aim was to have troopers with special training necessary to allow them to be assigned on a wide variety of missions." SpecNav was originally created as an Imperial pilot-oriented guild in the late spring of 2007 after its predecessor guild, Special Forces - Urban Specialists (SF-US), was disbanded. SF-US was a splinter group of the Fort Berchest Independents (FBI) after many members decided to join the Rebel Alliance in the summer of 2005. This rift caused the destruction of the city of Mandalore on Dantooine as a blood feud grew among former friends. The new guild formed from the ashes merged with other player associations, such as GT and coordinated PVP operations with other groups, such as LAW, RFR, KTD, and FTW. After the NGE was live, the game suffered the loss of many veterans and the ranks of SF-US were no exception. Eventually, some players did return to SWG after a year or more, but the majority decided to go back to their Imperial roots. A short lived spin-off guild in 2006 was the Dark Side Marauders (DSM), which was formed by a few elder jedi returning to the game. Upon the return of some SF-US members in 2007 the birth of the Special Navy Force or SpecNav began. After careful consideration, the formation of the guild was announced to Bria in May. Members of SpecNav participate in both PVE and PVP on the ground or in space. While the guild does have many aces, its more than just a pilots guild. The goal of the guild is to provide a positive gaming experience for all its members through being involved with every aspect of the game. Prospective members are pulled from the ranks of power gamers to casual players. All professions are utilized and support the guild as a whole. In late January of 2008, SpecNav was reformed as a PVP-only guild with the task of engaging in guildwars. Also, a non-PVP guild was created called the Talon Squadron to house pilots, crafters, recruits, and grinders. The No Pants Bandits reformed and started a seperate guild under the SpecNav banner in mid-February. They are a spy-only guild for the sole purpose of guildwarring. Members are expected to use Ventrilo for group activities to keep in communication during heroic quests or PVP. SpecNav is headquartered at Lake Krul, which was formally X-Wing Crossing, on the Nubian moon of Rori. Guild members should have at least one residence declared within the city limits. 2007 Bria Forum Announcement: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/p...opic_id=339625 Read More | Comments: 0 |
