Guild Mission and general policies

Posted by Carealot on 11-Nov-08 03:23pm

The mission of Paper Tigers is to be a casual cum medium-core raiding/pvp guild.

As the guild is still in the planning/formative stages, this goal will be determined by conditions on the ground by the GM and all officers when certain conditions are met. The first order of business towards meeting this goal will be an open recruiting period for all classes from levels 55+. The reason for this level requirement even in such early stages is that although we desire to be a friendly, mostly casual guild at first, we will eventually become a more medium core guild doing mainly 10-mans in WotLK until a suitable core of raid capable members become available for possible 25-mans.

We intend to have fun in our guild. This means that we will try to have as little drama as possible.

Some examples:

1) If you are a ninja: We will find out.  You will be kicked.

The point of any raiding is everyone working together to benefit and accomplish what there is to accomplish in the game. Having someone taking something that everyone applicable has a right to contend for is the antithesis of a guild. Don't do it.

2)If you are a drama queen: Keep it in check.

Obviously, if you start too much drama that cannot be resolved by the GM or, if he is not available an officer, you will be reprimanded and possibly kicked.  Most drama issues can be resolved by simply finding out a reasonable compromise, BUT if you are starting drama simply to do something, then you are in the wrong guild.  Fun=okay, drama=bad.

 3)Be respectful of others.

We play this game to have fun while trying to accomplish what we can. If you use derogatory language/slurs against another member of the guild you will be disciplined/kicked.

More policies will be implemented as the number of guildmates increase and more stringent rules start to apply. While our initial group of guild members will most likely be trying to grab every upgrade available, when we get enough raiders to rotate people in, we will do so at intervals. A possibility will be that once a guildie has the minimum requirements to participate in the raids in their primary capacity (tank, heal, dps) they will be rotated in with more seasoned members so that they may get upgrades. Most likely a week-on week-off rotation to allow for resets and try to keep each team (1,2,3)(These are merely numbers, being in team 2 does not mean that you are a lesser member. We want everyone. ) We want to gear up everyone, but starting out we will have to take the better geared people to be able to make it easier to have undergeared people come in and shore up any weaknesses they may have in learning the encounters and keeping the upgrades spread out so we will all be getting upgrades at about the same rate and be able to step up into 25-mans at the earliest possible opportunity.
This does not necessarily apply to regular 5-mans and 5-man Heroics.  If you can do a heroic and get some gear to push you towards the 10-man content, good.  We'll try to get in there as often as possible.  In the beginning we'll ALL need every upgrade we can get.

Our intention is to find our best time to raid each week for as many guild members as possible.  If this is early in formation and we do not have a full 10 man group to commit to two nights a week raiding (currently the nights sought are Wed. 7-11pm server, and Sat. 7-11pm server, with a possibility of Sunday with interest from the guild playerbase.)  We will try to instead do 5-mans heroics during those times for gear upgrades.
The Sunday interest will determine what we will do as a guild.  We would like to try to use Sunday to do some premades in BGs.  Get the teams used to each other and working together in an unscripted environment.  We believe this will also make it easier for us to farm honor for PvP gear and will give us guild espirit de corps.
