EPGP

Posted by xozion on 23-Oct-09 11:32pm

As you all know we will be moving to EPGP System. EPGP stands for Effort Points/Gear Points. Effort Points (EP) quantify the effort each member put towards the, hopefully common, guild goals. Gear Points (GP) quantify what loot each member got back in return. Loot priority (PR) is computed as the quotient of the two:

PR = EP/GPThe person with the higher PR gets the first say on loot. As a result, the more effort you put the more gear you receive. As a matter of fact, the gear you receive is proportional to the effort you put. EPGP is based on this simple principle, but there are some complexities that need to be dealt with which will be covered below.

Decay
In order to award recent effort more than past effort, which in effect avoids PR hoarding for veterans and enables new coming and dedicated members of a guild to be awarded properly, EPGP supports a decay mechanism. Decay simply removes a chunk of EP and GP from the totals, effectively leaving PR unchanged. For example with a decay of 10% applied each week, for each 7 days that pass your effort's rewards get diminished by 10%. The effort you put 10 weeks ago will only be worth 34.8% of what it did when you received it ( (1-0.1)10).

What you will get points for:

Showing up for a raid on time(This means accepting your invite, the first time raid invites go out, 30 minutes prior to the raid). With 4 flasks and fully repaired - 25 points(includes standbys)
For each hour you are in the raid you will recieve - 100 points. (Standbye if you are in vent and in the raid group)
For compleating the raid - 25 points.

Putting things in the guild bank. I am basing this off being able to make 250 gold/hour. For each hour of mining, herbing, fishing... etc. will give you the .5 hours of actual raid time. So for every 500gold worth of mats or gold put in will get you 100 points. To prevent someone from soley buying gear, we will be putting a cap on the amount points you can earn per week
from donating. So the most amount of points you can earn per week is 400.(This is the same as one complete raid). In order to recieve these points You must email Petitpeu anything you wish to donate to the guild bank. She will use the current value of any mats or items you put in to calculate your points. For her hassle I will be giving her 100 points per week.

Points may be givin or taken from time to time based on effort givin to the the guild this can be done by any officer.

This system has been focused and reformed to insure that those that put in the most effort get the most reward, yet at the same time it will ensure that those that do not or can not raid that often still get a chance to win gear. If the people that come the most have the highest gear this will in turn ensure that we as a guild progress faster, gearing our guild as a whole faster.

My goal as a guild leader is to gear as many people as fast as possible to down new bosses. I appreciate everyones effort reguardless wether you raid all the time or not and I want to ensure that your game play is enjoyable also.

On another note we may be tweeking this system a bit to make it work as fairly as possible, so please indulge me any changes I may have to make.

Another point of note is that if we start getting an income of gold in the guild bank for points I will be returning it to you in the form of guild repairs and if we get enough... Flasks.

I truely hope this system will advance our guild further than before while at the same time give good opertunities for the casual player.

Best of luck to you all - Xozion

Posted by xozion on 02-Jun-09 01:22am

Joust

Ok guildies, What do we do on Monday night? We raid. What about Tuesday? We raid. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday? Raid, raid and raid. It's time to break up the monotony, and do a little something different again. Last year it was the "Why I hate Spartanx" essay contest (really funny stuff there, you should check it out if you haven't.)

Touche!

This year we will be having a jousting tournament!!! The prizes include the following:

  1. 500 gold (single tournament), 160 gold (group tournament)
  2. Squire for the day (single tournament only)

Pick an officer to follow you around and praise your great accomplishments for an hour. “/y All hail (insert your name here) Grand Champion of  “The Order of the Rose Jousting Competition!!

“/y Make way the great (insert your name here) is coming through”

  1. Temporary officer privileges (both)
  2. Free repairs for 3 days (both)
  3. everyone that participates will get free repairs for 1 day

Sounds good right? Well why haven’t you signed up yet? Everything else I’m going to talk about is rules… Bla bla bla .

Rules:

joust 2

Touche!

Group tournament:

We will be running two separate tournaments both of which are double elimination. The first competition will be the team competition. Find two of your best guildies and sign up for the tournament. Each team will roll. The team with the lowest roll will pick who on their team will go first. The team with the winning roll will get to pick who they want to match against them. This will rotate between the teams till all participants have completed one match and everyone has fought. Best of 3 wins for the preliminary rounds Best of six for the finals (winners of the losers bracket has to win beat the winners of the winners bracket twice to become champions)

Singles tournament:

Same as above only each person will need to win the best out of three to advance. Best out of 5 for semi finals, and best out of 7 for finals.

Good luck!!! and have fun!!! Beer provided by Dutchwilly, just whisper him and he will personally come deliver it to your house!!!!ROFL
